Cooperating Foreman

Are you a social person who enjoys working with people? Are you known for your insight and innovative, analytical thinking? Do you like to achieve success by motivating people in the right way and contribute to a positive working atmosphere? Then we are looking for you!

What will you do?

In the role of cooperating foreman you are the first point of contact for all activities within the production department, packaging activities and projects, and you ensure that the organization is such that an optimal project implementation is realized. You report on the progress of the (packaging) projects, the quality, hours spent and actions taken.

It is important that you can switch gears quickly and know how to set priorities. One moment you are directing employees in production to edit and create wooden formwork and manually produce pallets. And the next moment you're managing packers who pack machines in specially designed wooden boxes. When it's busy, you are someone who will roll up your sleeves and join in with all the work in production or at customer sites.
In addition, it is important that you monitor the quality of the work and the safety on the work floor during the execution of the activities. In this way you guarantee and stimulate that the completely self-managing teams are optimally prepared for the agreed delivery to our customer.

As an extension of this, you take the initiative to continuously improve the applied processes, so that this leads to reduced lead times, efficient working methods and fewer disruptions or wastages. You encourage colleagues to think along with you and to take up these ideas themselves or together. In addition to the process improvements that arise from this, you contribute to a good mutual cooperation and broader employability of your colleagues, which results in commitment and job satisfaction. In short, a varied and challenging job!

Specifically, your duties will include:

  • Planning and coordinating the work in Edam;
  • Providing instructions and directions regarding quality, safety, delivery time and turnaround requirements;
  • Checking materials against work frameworks and instructions;
  • Assisting with all work at customer sites at the packing hall, or possibly other departments.

What do you bring?

  • A completed MBO education, towards business administration/technology is a plus;
  • You are in possession of a forklift certificate, lifting license, driving license and SCC, or willing to obtain it;
  • You have an affinity with our products and the packaging process and have good communication skills.
  • You are used to working with common software programs.

What do we offer?

  • A work environment where you have room for your own initiative;
  • Possibility of permanent employment;
  • Work within a family business with a pleasant and informal atmosphere;
  • Development opportunities to (continue to) develop yourself;
  • An attractive pension accrual, with 50% of your premium paid by Meilink;
  • Good working conditions such as a travel allowance/holiday pay/opportunity to work from home or at different locations and of course good coffee.
