Automatic tape dispenser for VDL Weweler Parts

A time-consuming chore In the old situation, packages were collected, weighed and the name and weight was written on the box. Once enough packages were ready, an employee would go to an office several times a day to process the collected orders. Then they had to go to a printer in another room to collect the packing slips. The packing slips were then assigned to the packages that had been casually prepared. A time-consuming activity with a high chance of errors.

Completely new workflow

The introduction of the automatic tape line has resulted in a change in the complete workflow. The tape conveyor has work tables, roller conveyors and an integrated scale with computer for direct order reporting. After order picking, an employee feeds the box per order through the conveyor. At the end of the tape conveyor the box is placed on the weighing scale. The weight of the box is entered into the computer so that the packing slip can be printed immediately.

Peace and quiet in the workplace

The walking distances and order processing times have been substantially reduced in the new situation. As a result, there is more peace on the shop floor and an increase in order processing capacity. There is also a much smaller chance of making mistakes in finishing the order process.
